Something new brews in Berkeley: patriotic pride
Left wing looks to Obama

BERKELEY, Calif. - The hundreds who massed at the University of California on election night responded to Barack Obama's victory by heading off on a route that has been for a generation the sacred way for the activist left: out the campus gates, through Sproul Plaza, and down Telegraph Avenue toward People's Park....

Jim and I spent the entire spring and summer touring all over the place and performing with our program, "What a Weapon is the Ballot!! Political Campaign Songs from Washington to Nixon." Thus we were immersed for months in the historical aspects of Presidential campaigning as well as being immersed in the current one. What a trip!
As soon as we knew Obama had won, and we got home from our Ohio trip, we hung flags all over the house. They'll remain up until the Inauguration itself becomes history.
It's a great time (finally) to be: an intellectual; politically progressive; a lover of the Constitution; an idealist.
It's also about time the United States reclaimed its birthright.
Congrats, USA! We are proud again.
and
YES WE WILL.

Hi there. Your post will appear after our Lord High Moderator looks up from her nineteenth cup of coffee for a sec.
